I provide services to adults, children, couples and families with a wide range of mental health problems. I specialize in depression, anxiety, anger management, post traumatic stress, marital issues, and physical and sexual abuse. I provide services to children with a variety of needs. Research has shown that the number one indicator for successful psychotherapy is whether the client can connect with the therapist. I have a gift for developing relationships and earning the trust of children and teens.

About me

Julie Richardson, L.C.S.W

I have a Master’s degree in Social work and a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Studies. have done counseling for many years in a variety of settings such as psychiatric hospitals, schools, mental healthcenters, and have been in private practice for over 10 years.

I have expertise in working with families going through divorce. I collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, employers and teachers to facilitate treatment. I use a wide range of therapeutic techniques, broad family systems theory, insight oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and behavioral therapy.

I always try to help people achieve their life goals through counseling, for example by changing thoughts and behaviors. At times though, talk therapy may not be enough, and clients may benefit from additional resources. Medications are often a helpful addition to counseling; research has shown that often times a combination of medication and therapy is the most beneficial course of action. I will help you decide if this would be a desirable alternative to consider. In addition to our medical staff, we also can connect clients with other resources such as psychological testing, group therapies, or specific treatment programs for specialized needs.  Read about these providers below.
